The Cleveland Browns began the second quarter by going nowhere and would be punting it right back to the Denver Broncos.

Bo Nix got a big play early on a pass interference call on Devaughn Vele to put Denver across midfield where Audric Estime would then rumble for six yards to setup a second and four. A Bo Nix pass bounced straight up from a receivers hands where it was intercepted at the Browns 30 yard line.That swung momentum to the Browns who gashed the Broncos defense on a third down and then on a Jerome Ford run to get into field goal range. Denver’s defense would finally step up on a third and five with pressure on Winston to force an incomplete pass and another field goal attempt. This time Dustin Hopkins would make it from 45-yards out.

Browns 10, Broncos 7.

After a quick three-and-out, the Browns would get the ball back with plenty of time left in the second quarter. Levi Wallace was burned early by Jerry Jeudy who would have had an easy 90-yard touchdown had Jameis Winston not overthrown him, but the Broncos defense recovered from that near miss to force a three-and-out themselves.

Denver broke out of their offensive slumber after three poor drives in a row with a third down pass to Sutton for 19 yards to get them near field goal range.Then on the next play, Bo Nix found Nate Adkins wide open for a 16-yard gain to the Browns 24-yard line. A near busted screen pass went to Troy Franklin who ran it all the way down to the one yard line for a 23-yard gain. After a defensive holding penalty, a fullback power dive from Michael Burton gave the Broncos back the lead to cap a six-play, 67 yard drive.

Broncos 14, Browns 10.

Annoyingly, Jameis Winston and the Browns offense kept finding ways to get first downs against the Broncos defense. Then all of that changed in the blink of an eye when Nik Bonitto stepped in front of a Winston pass and returned it 71 yards for a touchdown with less than two minutes to go in the half.Broncos 21, Browns 10.

Jameis Winston seemed unfazed by the pick six and drove the Browns down the field in less than two minutes. He’d have a first and 10 with 38 seconds left in the half at the Broncos 22 yard line. They’d use their last timeout after a completion down to the four yard line with 24 seconds left.

After such a brutal pick six, the Browns needed a touchdown before half as they’d get the ball to start the second half too and a chance to retake the lead. On third and goal, he would go back to the David Njoku well for his second touchdown reception to send the game into halftime.
